This trip incorporates some spectacular mountain biking with a broad historical and cultural discovery of Turkey.  Each day includes a historical or cultural adventure combined with a cycling excursion.  We begin in Istanbul and then step back in time and cycle the narrow, automobile-less streets of the Princes’ Islands in the sea of Marmara.  We then travel to Cappadocia to ride the mysterious "moonscape" discovering secret valleys and hidden caves and churches. Next, a visit to the underground cities of Kaymaklı and on to Konya, the city of the Whirling Dervishes.  We ride the ancient Roman roads in Koprulu Canyon near Antalya and hike in the wet and wild 10 kilometre Saklıkent Gorge.  We then descend from the 6,500-foot Baba Dağ Mountain in Olu Deniz by bike.  After this we visit the ruins of Kaunos and the environmentally protected beach near Dalyan.  Heading north, we ride our bikes to the top of the ancient walls of Ephesus and look down on the spectacular ruins.  With a stop and a short ride in the ancient Hellenistic city of Bergama, we continue on to Bandırma for a last ride in the Black Mountains or along the seaside and then take the ferry to İstanbul.
