Day 1 - Istanbul

Arrival to Istanbul and transfer to hotel.

Day 2 - Istanbul (B) (L)

Classical Essentials A full-day sightseeing tour, featuring visits to the city’s major highlights. The Roman Hippodrome, heart of the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires, functioned as a vivid stage for festivities, gatherings, as well as riots; the Blue Mosque, built in the 16th century, distinguished by its six slender minarets and walls decorated with traditional blue tiles; the Topkapi Palace, legendary residence of the Ottoman sultans for four hundred years which houses the imperial treasury, holy relics, dynastic chinaware and kitchenware; the Underground Cistern (Sunken Palace), a water reservoir built in the fourth century, one of the greatest remnants of the ancient times. Back to our hotel in the heart of Istanbul - Taksim Square.

Day 3 - Istanbul (B) (L)

A full-day viewing the Byzantine monuments: the Porphyrogenitus Palace (born into the purple), situated near the land walls; the Chora Monastery containing superb examples of well-preserved frescoes and mosaics; the Church of the Divine Wisdom - Hagia Sophia, a dedication to the Virgin Mary, one of the largest heavenly constructions with its striking mosaics and frescoes; the Sergius and Bachhus Church, dedicated to St. Sergius & Bachhus by Justinian and Theodora; the Basilica Cistern, a well-preserved underground reservoir originally built in the 3rd century; Lunch at a local restaurant. Back to our hotel in the heart of Istanbul - Taksim Square.

Day 4 - Istanbul (B) (L)

An exciting day to explore the vibrant sights and sounds of the city. Stroll around a street market which promises exotic and tempting glimpses of a bustling town. Afterwards, browse a little around the wholesaler shops in the old part of the city. Then comes the fabulous Spice Market, a world of colors with dried fruits, various herbs and spices, then continue to view the Covered Bazaar, with its thousands of tiny shops scattered amongst labyrinth-like alleys and cul-de-sacs. Then, a unique chance to observe the traditional handicrafts being made at a 15th century medrese and take a rest while sipping your tea or coffee. Lunch at restaurant known for its authentic cuisine and frequented by local merchants. Tired?…. Welcome to one of the Turkish Baths to relax following a hectic day. Back to our hotel in the heart of Istanbul - Taksim Square.

Day 5 - Istanbul (B) (L)

A half day tour on two continents...Bosphorous cruise along the shores of the magical waterway, and on board view palaces, wooden mansions, castles and green groves. Lunch at a seafood restaurant on the Bosphorus. Back to our hotel in the heart of Istanbul - Taksim Square. Free evening....why not GO 4 a Greek night out at a favorite Taverna...try breaking some plates!

Day 6 - Istanbul (B) 

Transfer to Airport. Breakfast and group transfer to the airport for your depart flight.
